Episode 21: Mission Africa
Welcome to the PrimalCast podcast episode 21 where Jeff interviews Allen about his trip to South Africa this week. As this episode airs, Allen will be joining a team en route to South Africa and Lesotho on a unique outreach.
Allen talks at length about a project – founded in 2005 by his parents, Ladell and Bettie Patterson – which provides food, support and resources for children orphaned and abandoned from the pandemic of HIV/AIDS. Known in the country of Lesotho (le-soo-too) Africa as The Bana Project of Lesotho, this grassroots outreach focuses primarily on providing hot meals, school uniforms, shoes & blankets to this sub-Saharan country’s most needy and vulnerable.
Allen and Jeff talk about the non-traditional – shall we say unconventional – approach that Allen and his brother, Roger Patterson of LifeTrek Global, and his parents began this outreach. They also talk about colonialist mission work, the exciting new development with the “Flying Pastors of Lesotho,” and a variety of other subjects impacting outreach around the globe.
Allen talks about their partnership with Bob Coker and also about Wow Africa! in this show. Check them out and let them know you heard about them here. Also, Allen mentions their recent CrowdRise fundraising campaign. For more information about that, please click here.
